這幅畫的構思來自669名猶太兒童的救援事蹟，尼古拉斯·溫頓爵士在二次大戰前期參與救援計劃，讓孩子們從捷克斯洛伐克乘搭火車至英國，並安排善心人士領養他們，以避開將臨的大屠殺。 我欣賞爵士為人謙卑低調，忠於保密，50年來並沒有向任何人提起他的善舉。直至妻子整理家居，她發現了有關孩子詳細資料及救援細節的筆記本才將事情公諸於世。 爵士形容自己所作的為理所當然，是他的份內事，並沒有將自己看為偉人。
This digital drawing was inspired by an intricate humanitarian operation known as Kindertransport, that saved 669 Jewish children from the Nazi massacre during WWII. Sir Nicholas Winton, a British businessman, was actively involved in arranging the children’s escape from Czechoslovakia, preparing their documents for their entry into the UK, and ensuring their adoption by local families. For half a century Sir Winton kept it a secret. It remained so until the discovery of his notebook regarding the rescue plan by his wife. He described that under the circumstance, it was not an extraordinary thing to do but simply a necessity. With humility, he disregarded his actions as heroic.
很感動我的一幕是爵士夫婦參與錄影以這項救援事件為主題的電視節目。在節目最後，主持人請觀眾席中被救的人站起來，當時年邁的爵士及妻子坐在最前排。他們往後一看，發現全場的觀眾都站起來了。這些人看似已過中年，皆因救援行動而活了下來了。 而在另一幕紀念日，被救援的孩子攜著子孫、幾代同堂的來參加，共六千名成員出席，讓爵士夫婦見證著救人生命的美好果效。他們救的不只是六百多名孩童，更是繼續繁衍下去成千上萬的後代。
In filming the documentary regarding this operation, Sir Winton and his wife were seated at the front, with the audience behind them. At the end of the program, the host invited all those who had been saved during the rescue effort to arise. The couple turned around and realized that the entire audience were standing. It was a touching, historical moment, as it become clear that after half a century, the survivors are still alive and well. On another occasion, over 6000 survivors and their family members attended the remembrance event, which powerfully presented the lasting impact of the courageous act albeit its tremendous risks.
這似乎是靈魂救贖的實體表徵，我聯想到作基督徒以身榮耀神而種下的果子。若我們有聲無聲的擺上的能以實體呈現， 看到受益者的面容、與他們相聚，將會是多麼壯觀澎湃和令人興奮的景象！ 現在我們未能看見，或會感到洩氣。在藝術治療的路上，我身邊的同學、同事和治療對象主要是非基督徒。當我們深入探討心靈的事情， 我特別感受到衝擊，發現他們對基督教的某程度上的抗拒、因宗教表現而對神的誤會，心裏的鬱結和傷痕，以及我們價值觀上的不一樣。 另外我攙扶著治療對象的情緒擔子，有時候會令我覺得沮喪、寂寞和無所適從。 但另一邊廂，我戰戰兢兢地在學院裏分享神在我身上的經歷， 默默為接觸到非基督徒提名禱告，以及見到治療對象敞開心扉，都讓我覺得縱使有難處，都總承載着神的恩典，都是值得的。
To me, this seems like a visual imagery signifying the importance of saving souls. While it is a virtue to remain quiet and content about one’s effort, there are times when we are in need of encouragements. As an art therapy student, admittedly I feel lonely in the process, as there are not many who walk on the same path as I do. Yet there are times that are rewarding and eye-opening that I will not exchange this experience with anything else. In particular, when I envision that seeds are being planted, crops are growing and fruits are coming along, I am prompted to keep going. I picture the faces I will see one day, when we are gathered all at once ---- of those whom I made a positive impact on, and those who changed the course of my life in the best possible way. It will be all worth it, I am sure. What’s most important of all, is that I will see His face, and He will say “Well done ! my good and faithful servant!”
當我聯想有天能親眼看見勞碌後的美好果效，就是人的生命被神所救和被建立，並且現在已經相信在發芽生長， 都是讓我繼續走下去的動力。 神很好，每當我們軟弱，祂總處處鼓勵我們。 最終我所盼望的就是無愧地見祂的面，祂對我說「做得好！你這良善又忠心的僕人！」
