細想基督於世上的一生看似是很潦倒。 狐狸有自己的洞，雀鳥有自己的窩，祂貴為神的兒子、萬王之王、萬主之主連個安穩舒服的家都沒有。 祂出生在馬槽裏，因為客店沒有地方（路2:7）。 祂在船尾靠著枕頭睡著（可4:38）； 祂在曠野四十天受試探和野獸在一起（可1:13a）； 祂礙於身分得留在荒野的地方（可1:35,45）。 The life of Jesus looked miserable. Animals have their own homes but the Son of Man, the King of King and the Lords of Lords, didn’t even have a comfortable bed to rest on. He was born in the manger, for there was no room at the inn (Luke 2:9); He slept in the stern on a cushion before He calmed the sea (Mark 4:38); He was tested for 40 days in the wilderness with the wild beasts (Mark 1:13a); and He had to stay out of the city in desolate places because of His identity (Mark 1:35,45).
基督已示範了對待生活該有的態度，現在祂讓我們捨己，天天背上我們的十字架跟從祂。 基督用身教表明我們跟隨他的人也有機會落難、狼狽。這樣基督徒是否很愚蠢，不選擇娛樂享受偏選擇受苦？ 我認為不是。首先，基督徒不會自討苦吃，苦難是跟隨基督後自然而來的。 第二，如果我們只有今生，而今生是最好最實在的，那基督徒確是不智了。事實是基督受苦我們必同樣受苦；基督得榮耀我們必同樣靠祂得榮耀。這個世界的完結便是神完美永恆國度的開始，祂的計劃是與屬祂的子民同住。且神將會為我們遂一平反不公正不公義的事，因此我們才不怕短暫的苦難找上門來。 為此耶穌教導我們不要把希望寄予今生的舒適富有上，倒要積攢財寶在天上，那裡的財富不能壞也不會被偷。 Christ has demonstrated to us the attitude we should keep in all circumstances as His followers. He asks us to deny ourselves, take up our cross daily and follow Him. Now is it foolish for Christians to choose hardships and labor over comfort and entertainment? I think no. First, we don’t purposefully choose to suffer but when we choose to follow Christ, hardships come naturally on its own. Second, we are willing to tolerate the cost of following Jesus because we believe in a better life than this one. We suffer as Jesus suffered; and we will be in glory when Jesus is glorified. We are living in a reality where this world is deteriorating and its end is the beginning of a new, perfect world where our Holy God dwells with His people. He will reward and vindicate His people according to their deeds fairly and mightily. Therefore, it is wise to invest in heaven rather than here, for our treasure in heaven is eternal and can never be destroyed.
既然如此，我們是否做好了心理建設，隨時為基督和福音的緣故， 放下眼前只擁有片時的一切呢？先莫講是否願意為主捨去生命，單單是放棄舒適，我自己是否願意？ So then are we willing to endure and give up what is temporary for the Lord and the gospel to gain what is eternal? I ask myself, if I were just to give up my comfort and my security alone, am I willing?
題外話：這不是完全照著我的房間畫的，例如我家沒有一部唱機，只是覺得看起來很酷而已。
